Online file and folder archiver

Packlet creates a standard ZIP archive that opens with built-in tools on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, as well as popular archive managers.

Files stay on your device

Contents are processed in the browser and are not sent to Packlet servers. This is useful for personal documents and other confidential data.

Folder structure is preserved

Nested folders can remain unchanged. If you do not need the structure, all files can be placed into the root of the finished ZIP.

Configurable compression

Choose store mode, fast, normal, or maximum compression depending on source file size and available time.

What you can add to ZIP

Archive documents, photos, videos, music, projects, and any other files. You can combine different formats in one archive, add several files at once, or choose a folder with all nested directories.

Browser processing limits

ZIP is assembled in device memory, so speed depends on data size, performance, and available RAM. The selected files must not exceed 2 GB in total. For large sets, close extra tabs or split data into several archives.

Frequently asked questions

Are files uploaded to a server?

No. The ZIP archive is created locally in your browser. Packlet does not receive the contents, names, or folder structure of the files and folders you add.

How do I create a ZIP archive online?

Add files or a whole folder, change the archive name and compression level if needed, then click “Create ZIP”. The finished archive can be downloaded as soon as processing is complete.

Can I archive an entire folder?

Yes. Choose a folder on your device or drop it into the workspace. Nested folders can be preserved as they are, or all files can be placed into the ZIP root.

Which files can I add to the archive?

You can add documents, images, videos, audio, and other file types to a ZIP. Source formats are not restricted: the archiver bundles files without changing their contents.

Which compression level should I choose?

Normal compression works for most tasks. Fast saves time, maximum can reduce the archive further, and store mode is useful for already compressed videos, images, and similar files.

Is there a file size limit?

The total workspace size must not exceed 2 GB. Because the archive is created in browser memory, available device RAM may limit very large jobs earlier.

Can I create RAR or 7Z?

No. Packlet currently creates ZIP archives only. The separate extraction tool can open ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, TAR.GZ, GZ, BZ2, and XZ.
