Supported archive formats
The online archive extractor detects the format not only by extension but also by file contents. This helps process an archive correctly even if its name has been changed.

Private extraction in the browser
The archive selected on your device is not sent to Packlet servers. The browser reads its structure and extracts data locally, so personal documents, photos, and other files remain on your device.
Processing limits
Extracted data is kept in browser memory. The safe limit is 2 GB including the source file and archive contents, but devices with limited memory may stop earlier. For large archives, close extra tabs.

Is the archive uploaded to a server?
No. Archive contents are read and extracted locally in your browser. Packlet does not receive the names or data of files selected on your device.
How do I extract an archive online?
Choose an archive or drag it into the workspace, review the file list, and click “Extract”. After processing, download the file, folder, or all contents as one ZIP.
Which archive formats are supported?
Packlet extracts ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, TAR.GZ, GZ, BZ2, and XZ. The format is detected by both extension and file contents.
Can I view archive contents before extraction?
Yes. After you choose a supported archive, Packlet shows a file and folder tree, item count, and total extracted size.
Can I download only one file from an archive?
Yes. After extraction you can download an individual file or folder. If you need all contents, the tool packages the extracted data into a new ZIP for convenient download.
Are password-protected archives supported?
Support depends on the format and encryption method. Some archives allow a password in the interface, but the current ZIP engine does not decrypt protected ZIP files. If processing fails, use a copy without a password.
What is the maximum archive size?
The safe browser-processing limit is 2 GB including the source archive and extracted data. Actual processing capacity depends on available device memory.
Why does an archive fail to open?
The file may be damaged, partially downloaded, protected in an unsupported way, or have an incorrect extension. Try downloading it again or opening it with the program that created it.
